Singapore is a great little nation state. Clean, safe, harmonious, wealthy and freakishly strict. There are cameras everywhere. We got the feeling of being in some Truman Show meets 1984 sequel. On the plus side, big brother makes it safe enough to carry my iPad around with less fear of theft than in San Francisco. So we snapped a few photos. We're going to try and use the iPad more as those photos are turning out better, but for now bear with me people.
We spent about 20 minutes chatting with an older ethnic Malay Singaporean man at a hawker in Little India. He took this picture of us. 
A little while later we met a Thai lady who has lived in Walnut Creek for several years. She snapped this photo of us outside of a Hindu temple.
The new architecture in Singapore is very impressive. But there are some cool restored old store fronts too.
You know your in Singapore when you find a couple Buddhist temples in Little India.

Our book told us this is the most attended Hindu temple in Little India. I don't think it's always covered in tarps.
The downtown is beautiful at night. 
Especially from the top of the Surfboard aka Marina Bay Sands, a must Panorama viewpoint. 
Singapore's Changi Airport is ranked as one of the best in the world. The fantastic dining options are one reason for this.
