Bearing the Elements

I'm sure everyone was wondering how Ali and I survived the massive snow storm that came through Austin a couple weeks ago (as reported here.) The Friday morning after the 0.4 inch overnight dumping, the city mostly shutdown. The local news coverage recommended for viewers not leave home unless absolutely necessary. If Austin had it's own stock market, it would have crashed. Here's what it looked like at the worst of the panic:

Austinites also loves their craft beer. I've been studying the industry so that I can be more productive in helping my friend Jeff W launch his microbrew (in the bay area.) Bangers has 101 taps, a great place for research:

Other than beer, I've been working on research in Jet Engine leasing and a comic production company. If anyone has any insights in these markets please email me.
